Ken has been bugging me for some time to climb this bad boy, so we did some research, packed our ropes and headed out.

We hiked up about 5 miles (2,200’) and camped overnight at this remote mountain lake.

East Thorne is the dramatic-looking peak just north of Buffalo Mountain and Red Peak, in the Gore Range of Colorado. There are probably no more than 5-10 people on the mountain each year.
